AL Gummi- und Kunststofftechnik GmbH was founded in 1986 by the married couple Hermann and Anne Langer, initially as a trading company. The company is based in Neuss

AL Gummi has shifted its focus from the trading business to its own production. The aim is to produce special rubber parts in-house. AL Gummi- und Kunststofftechnik GmbH relocates its headquarters from Neuss to Dormagen. The new company headquarters are at Kruppstraße 13 in Dormagen. The number of employees increases to eight.

AL Gummi upgrades its computerised data processing. The Alphaplan merchandise management system is introduced.

As of 1 November 2014, Mr. Jörg Fischer is appointed as the new Managing Director alongside the company founder Mr. Hermann Langer. Mr. Fischer succeeds the long-time managing director and owner Anne Langer, who retires from the operative business. The company has 18 employees at this time.

AL Gummi celebrates its 30th anniversary with customers and employees. The anniversary marks a milestone in the Langer family's entrepreneurial achievement and at the same time a turning point. Mr Langer announces the handover of the company to Mr Jörg Fischer.

The long-time managing director and owner Hermann Langer leaves the company after more than 30 years. Mr Fischer is appointed sole managing director. The company continues to grow to 20 employees.

AL Gummi's production capacities and know-how at the Dormagen site are being further expanded. A new autoclave for hot vulcanisation expands the production capability for freehand production of moulded parts to components with a length of up to 4,000mm and a diameter of up to 1,750mm AL Gummi can now also vulcanise very large hand-made parts itself using the superheated steam process.

AL Gummi continues to grow and expands its production and logistics area by another 600sqm. This creates additional production and storage space for, among other things, approx. 1,000 sheet metal tools and approx. 4,000 press tools. The number of employees has now reached 30.

In order to further ensure its production and delivery quality, AL Gummi is expanding its storage area for rubber and silicone compounds at the Dormagen site. The new compound warehouse also makes it possible to react better and faster to increased, short-term customer requirements from stock. On the production side, capacities are being expanded with two additional moulded article presses.
