Many so-called compensators do not fit precisely, are too stiff or even leak. This then leads to safety-relevant risks, especially in the case of substances that are hazardous to health, to which attention should definitely be paid. Our sleeves and compensators made of silicone, on the other hand, ensure dust-tight filling in flexible pipe systems.

Furthermore, it is important for the weighing process that the individual components decouple vibrations and connect different tube diameters in a dust-tight manner. We supply a variety of different silicone components for this purpose.

One of the many flexible connections offered by AL Gummi und Kunststofftechnik is the silicone cradle collar, cradle bellows, vase compensator or step bellows. These components are vulcanised into shape and are therefore completely seamless, which increases both the flexibility and the strength that the connection can withstand.

Our silicone sleeves meet the highest requirements. They are basically FDA-certified, and may therefore also be used in accordance with the strict safety requirements in the food industry, for example.

Due to their extreme flexibility, our weighing collars generate only a very low reaction force, so that they do not influence the weighing. They are very resistant to chemicals, high temperatures and ageing.

Another flexible connection is the cradle cuff. These collars are manufactured using compression moulding and are therefore completely seamless, which increases flexibility and also resilience. The cradle collar is suitable for a variety of uses, such as the flexible connection of inlet and outlet lines to containers of load cells, mixers, dosing devices or similar devices.

Stepped bellowsmade of silicone

The silicone seamless stepped bellows allows flexible connection of vessels to load cells, mixers or feeders, with inlets and outlets or other forms of air or powder transport with two different pipe diameters.
When connecting two different pipe diameters, it may be desirable to install a stepped bellows or a conical collar.

Our step bellows are made of silicone as standard and are basically FDA-compliant, so they can also be used in the food industry, medical technology or pharmaceutical industry.

Scale compensatorfor scale decoupling

The scale or vase compensator is designed for the safe decoupling of filling scales. It prevents deposits in the compensator due to its special shape with seamless and smooth inner walls.

Force-fit connections of components often lead to falsification of weighing results. The special design of the vase compensator compensates for frictional connections and guarantees an unadulterated result.

Often, compensators are not suitable for use in the pharmaceutical sector due to their shape. Product deposits in dead spaces contradict the high demands of the pharmaceutical and medical technology industry. This is because the product residue in the dead spaces often cannot be completely removed even when the component is thoroughly cleaned. In such cases, so-called cross-contamination of batches often occurs.

The vase compensator, on the other hand, consists of a seamlessly moulded individual part and is the perfect application due to its special shape. Its special geometry prevents product deposits and is easy to clean, so that contamination of your products is excluded.

Structure of silicone sleeves

Silicone sleeves or hose sections are special sealing solutions that are often used when approval is required at high temperatures or in the food industry.

Silicone sleeves or hose sections are hot-vulcanised in our production. This gives them a smooth inner surface and a slightly structured outer finish. The result is a homogeneous connection with constant material thickness at all times.

Connecting seams of cuffs are generally vulcanised in our production. This produces homogeneous joints with a constant material thickness.
With this manufacturing process, we are able to produce a wide range of dimensions according to individual customer requirements. We use CAD to process the geometries. This means that fewer tool moulds are needed and the production time is significantly reduced.

A particularly cost-effective production option is the so-called cold vulcanisation.
This type of customised production of silicone sleeves involves a multi-stage manufacturing process.
First, the roll material is cut to your specified dimensions. In the next step, the finished cut is cold-vulcanised by hand to the appropriate diameter by one of our employees. In order to even out any final unevenness or protrusions, the silicone sleeve is reground after the seam has been vulcanised.

Function

A quick and inexpensive way to connect pipes or moving machine parts to each other is to use a sleeve that is fastened on each side with hose clamps.

This type of fastening is usually easy to install. The hose clamps can be adjusted to any size. The connection can be used for round or oval pipes of any diameter, circumference, height and length.

This makes the collar a perfect universal stock item that can be used in many different places in your company or during a commissioning of a new system.

The advantages and material properties of silicone at a glance

Due to its high temperature resistance, with a temperature range between -60° C and +210°C, as well as good mechanical properties, silicone is an excellent material for sleeves and hose sections.

The material is also relevant in medical technology, the food and pharmaceutical industries, as it is considered physiologically harmless and thus has various conformities, such as EC 1935/2004 or FDA (21 CFR 177-2600).
